Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has signed an agreement with DeltaV to collaborate on the “High-Resolution Micro Satellite System” project, integrating a domestically produced propulsion system into an indigenously developed micro satellite set to be launched into space.

We are delighted to have established a key partnership with TAI within the scope of the ‘High-Resolution Micro Satellite’ project.

By leveraging our existing expertise in propulsion systems, we remain committed to making continued contributions to the advancement of Türkiye’s national space program.

Collaboration for domestic satellite and propulsion system

According to a statement from TAI, the company continues to expand its role in national satellite projects.

Under the newly signed agreement, the micro satellite will be equipped with a propulsion system developed by DeltaV, marking a significant step in Türkiye’s efforts to enhance its space capabilities using indigenous technology.

The High-Resolution Micro Satellite, designed and manufactured by TAI, will incorporate multiple domestically developed systems, including ground and flight software, power and interface units, and onboard flight computers.

The propulsion system will also be locally produced and integrated before the satellite’s launch into orbit.

Strategic impact of micro satellite project

The project, initiated with TAI’s own resources, aims to position Türkiye as a leading player in the field of high-resolution electro-optical satellite systems.

The micro satellites developed by TAI are expected to be used in a variety of strategic areas, including defense, environmental monitoring, disaster management, and urban planning.

High-resolution observation and constellation concept

The initial satellite will be followed by the development of additional satellites with resolutions of 0.9m and 0.5m, advancing Türkiye’s satellite observation capabilities.

The long-term goal is to establish a satellite constellation by deploying multiple high-resolution satellites into orbit.

Key design phases have already been completed, with preliminary design definition activities successfully concluded. Work has now accelerated on the critical design definition stage.

Additionally, satellite command and control operations for the project will be conducted from the “Akinci Ground Station” located at TAI facilities.
