Warner Bros. Discovery’s premium digital streaming platform Max will officially launch in Türkiye on April 15, replacing BluTV.

The announcement was made at the new season preview event of “Magarsus,” whose second season will premiere on BluTV on March 6.

A year in making: BluTV’s transition to Max

Highlighting the yearlong integration process since BluTV’s acquisition by Warner Bros. Discovery, Deniz Sasmaz Oflaz, Warner Bros. Discovery Türkiye vice president and head of Türkiye Original Productions, National Channels and Digital Platform Operations, said: “Today, alongside our Magarsus second season screening, we announced our Max launch date. We’re thrilled to bring Max to Türkiye on April 15.”

Oflaz emphasized the importance of the transition, noting that while Max will maintain local content, it will offer a richer library including HBO and Warner content, foreign productions, sports broadcasts, and live events. She added, “This is a significant change, and we are excited to provide a more advanced and diverse platform.”

Türkiye’s unique stories to shine on Max

Noting that Türkiye is a highly local market with audiences deeply engaged with local content, Oflaz said, “We have experienced this for years with BluTV, and now, as Max Originals, we will continue to produce local content. Our investments will increase, and we will bring new projects and continue ongoing series. Türkiye has many beautiful stories to tell, and we are committed to sharing them.”

Magarsus season 2 premieres on March 6

The second season of BluTV’s original series “Magarsus” will premiere on March 6. “In the new season, we will continue to explore agricultural themes while delving into new topics. It will be a captivating season,” Oflaz shared. The final two episodes of “Magarsus” will be released on Max, marking the platform’s transition.

“We will begin the season on BluTV, and with the transformation, the last two episodes will make their finale on Max,” she added.

The transition process will be streamlined for users, who will need to download the Max app and log in with their existing BluTV credentials. “We will transfer your membership details seamlessly,” Oflaz confirmed.

Max offers more than ever before

Max will offer a broader selection than BluTV, with thousands of additional hours of content. Subscribers can enjoy popular local productions such as “Magarsus,” “Prens,” and “Cekic ve Gul: Bir Behzat C. Hikayesi,” alongside global hits like “The Last of Us,” “The White Lotus,” “House of the Dragon,” and “The Penguin.”

The platform will also feature blockbuster Warner Bros. movies including “Barbie,” “Wonka,” “Dune,” “Dune: Part Two,” and the “Harry Potter” series. Classic shows like “Friends” and “The Big Bang Theory” will be available, as well as the first-ever Turkish release of all seasons of “And Just Like That…”

Max aims to invest more in original content, bringing even more local stories to the platform. New and exciting original productions will be announced in the coming months, with beloved series from TLC and DMAX also joining the lineup.
