42 irregular migrants caught in Türkiye’s Kirklareli and Balikesir

Security forces apprehended a total of 42 irregular migrants in Kirklareli and Balikesir as part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal migration.

In Kirklareli, teams from the Provincial Gendarmerie Command identified and detained 10 irregular migrants who had entered Türkiye unlawfully during inspections conducted in the Kofcaz district.

Meanwhile, off the coast of Balikesir’s Ayvalik district, the Turkish Coast Guard intercepted a rubber boat attempting to cross into Greece’s Lesbos Island. A total of 32 migrants, including 12 children, were taken into custody.

Following the necessary procedures, the apprehended individuals were transferred to the Pehlivankoy Removal Center and the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
