Queen Camilla reassures the public about his health as King Charles III undergoes a planned procedure for an enlarged prostate at London Clinic

Buckingham Palace has confirmed that King Charles III has been admitted to a London hospital for a scheduled procedure to treat an enlarged prostate this morning.

The 75-year-old monarch’s treatment at the London Clinic follows his recent diagnosis of a benign condition. His admission coincided with a visit to the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton, who is also recuperating in the same hospital after her abdominal surgery.

The King, accompanied by Queen Camilla, arrived at the clinic in Marylebone this morning following his departure from Clarence House. Their unusual joint appearance signals a departure from the protocol typically followed by the late Queen and Prince Philip. Queen Camilla has expressed her reassurance about the King’s health, emphasizing his eagerness to resume duties.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson informed the public about the King’s admission to the hospital and added, “His Majesty would like to thank all those who have sent their good wishes over the past week and is delighted to learn that his diagnosis is having a positive impact on public health awareness.”

The need for Charles’ procedure was announced last week, shortly after Kensington Palace revealed Kate’s hospitalization. The announcement aimed to raise public awareness about men’s health issues, encouraging those experiencing similar symptoms to seek medical advice.

Charles’ diagnosis was made public after he experienced symptoms and underwent a check-up. Described as a workaholic, the King has maintained a rigorous schedule, including 516 engagements in 2023 alone. However, he has postponed his engagements for a brief recuperation period following his treatment.
