US Deputy Secretary of state Victoria Nuland set to visit Türkiye

The U.S. Acting Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland is set to visit Türkiye on a diplomatic mission on Jan. 28-29, according to diplomatic sources.
The visit is part of the Türkiye-U.S .Strategic Mechanism, marking a significant step in bilateral relations between the two nations. Nuland’s visit follows an invitation from Deputy Foreign Minister Burak Akcapar.
This visit follows the trajectory established during the meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and U.S. President Joe Biden in Rome on Oct. 31, 2021.
During this summit, both leaders endorsed the establishment of the Türkiye-U.S. Strategic Mechanism, aiming to facilitate high-level dialogue and address areas of divergence between the two countries, while also promoting cooperation on shared objectives.
The initiation of this strategic mechanism was subsequently formalized during Victoria Nuland’s visit to Ankara on April 4, 2022.
As Nuland undertakes this diplomatic mission, the discussions will touch upon a wide array of topics, spanning the entirety of the Türkiye-U.S. bilateral relationship.
