Ukraine is calling on Russia to provide proof substantiating its assertion that a military aircraft, reportedly transporting Ukrainian prisoners of war, crashed earlier this week

Ukraine is urging Russia to present evidence supporting its claim that a military plane, allegedly carrying Ukrainian prisoners of war, was shot down earlier in the week.

Amid the ongoing dispute, Ukrainian officials reported two civilians killed in a Russian raid near the border.

Ukraine’s intelligence chief questioned Russia’s failure to provide images of the purported bodies of Ukrainian soldiers killed in the incident.

Russia asserted that 65 Ukrainian prisoners of war died in the Ilyushin-76 plane crash.

While Kyiv doesn’t outright deny Russia’s claims, it questioned key aspects, including the composition of the aircraft’s passengers.

Ukraine’s GUR military intelligence chief questioned the absence of evidence and challenged Russia’s narrative.

Russia’s Investigative Committee released videos of the crash site, but Ukraine dismissed them as inconclusive.

President Putin alleges Ukrainian forces shot down the plane, accusing them of attacking despite the potential presence of their troops.

The incident prompts calls for an international investigation.

Additionally, Russian troops allegedly killed two civilians in a cross-border raid, further escalating tensions.
