Abdulmalik al-Houthi, the leader of the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen, has threatened to launch attacks on Israel if the war in Gaza resumes.

In a statement made for Ramadan, al-Houthi reaffirmed his group’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and resistance groups, particularly Hamas’ military wing, the Qassam Brigades.

We emphasize our firm stance and our religious, humanitarian, and moral commitment to supporting our Palestinian brothers and the mujahideen in the resistance.

He further threatened to “resume military intervention against Israel through various means.”

Since November 2023, the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen have launched missile and drone attacks on Israeli targets and Israeli-linked cargo ships in the Red Sea, claiming these actions are in “solidarity with Gaza.”
