Fenerbahce and BYD sign $75 million stadium naming rights deal

Fenerbahce, whose current stadium naming sponsorship deal with Turkish food company Ulker will expire at the end of the season, is reportedly finalizing a new agreement for the stadium naming rights. According to Turkish media reports, the club has signed a five-year deal with Chinese automotive company BYD (Build Your Dreams) worth a total of $75 million (2.9 billion Turkish lira).
In a previous statement, Fenerbahce Club President Ali Koc revealed that the club had been in talks regarding the stadium naming rights and expressed that the deal would generate significant revenue. Meanwhile, Chinese automotive giant BYD has recently made a swift entrance into the Turkish market.

Fenerbahce and BYD deal
BYD, regarded as one of Tesla’s biggest competitors, is said to be making a record payment to Fenerbahce for this sponsorship deal. According to a report by Aksam newspaper, sources close to the automotive company revealed that the contract with Fenerbahce would be valued at $15 million per year over five years, totaling $75 million.
This deal, when converted to Turkish Lira (TL), amounts to approximately 2.9 billion TL. This figure represents about one-sixth of Fenerbahce’s total financial obligations.
Fenerbahce’s debt
During the Fenerbahce Club’s High Advisory Council (YDK) meeting, held on February 15 at the Faruk Ilgaz Facilities in Kalamis, the club revealed its total debt as of November 30, 2024. Short-term liabilities were reported at 11.1 billion TL, while long-term liabilities amounted to 7.5 billion TL. The total liabilities of the club were disclosed as 18.6 billion TL ($509 million).
The new stadium sponsorship deal is expected to provide a significant financial boost to the club, helping to alleviate some of its financial burdens while securing long-term revenue.
