President Erdogan unveils AK Party’s election manifesto

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan Tuesday announced the Justice and Development (AK) Party’s manifesto ahead of the March 31 municipal elections, asserting that every election is the starting point of a new history and a new process.

“Despite the efforts to suspend democracy, our nation has restored the flag of national will. The AK Party’s coming to power was the rise of the postmodern coup in the national will,” the president maintained.

Referring to the last elections, Erdogan said that the nation has seen the struggle together in the elections of May 14–28, 2023. “I believe that, with Allah’s permission, we will once again come out of this test with success on March 31,” he added.

Erdogan said that It’s not just about winning as many mayoralties as possible. “The result we will achieve on March 31 will give us strength and support. It takes hard work to achieve big dreams. We are a team that started our journey in municipalities 30 years ago,” he added.

The president also addressed the criticism, saying: “We built Türkiye’s future, first with our 2023 goals and then with our Türkiye Century vision. Even though the arrows are directed at us, the real target is Türkiye. By taking steps to prepare our cities for the Turkish Century, we will defeat these insidious mentalities.”

The manifesto announced by Erdogan included the AK Party’s local government vision, participation, transparency and accountability, resilient cities, city and environment in the 4th Turkish Century, city economies prioritizing social welfare, responsive social municipality for a peaceful and social structure and service and work municipality.

“This manifesto is like the promises we made to our nation for the new era,” the president concluded.
