AmCham Türkiye elects Emre Karter as chair

Emre Karter, general manager of Citibank Türkiye, has been elected as the new president of the American Business Forum in Türkiye (AmCham Türkiye).
The association also appointed Aysem Sargin as vice president, while Ayhan Ozturk, Evrim Sen, and Levent Ozbilgin were named deputy presidents.
According to a statement from AmCham Türkiye, the 21st General Assembly was held in Istanbul, bringing together representatives from nearly 150 U.S.-based companies operating in Türkiye. These firms collectively account for more than $60 billion in investments and employ over 100,000 people in the country.
The meeting was attended by member representatives, as well as Michael Goldman, chargé d’affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, and Julie Eadeh, U.S. consul general in Istanbul. Discussions focused on AmCham Türkiye’s activities in 2024, along with expectations and objectives for 2025.
‘We aim to deepen our relations’
In his post-election remarks, Karter highlighted the growing momentum in U.S.-Türkiye economic relations as 2025 approaches.

Pointing to new investments and collaborations in sectors such as technology and green energy, he emphasized their potential to create significant opportunities for both countries.
“We aim to deepen our relations through new partnerships and investments,” Karter stated.
