The Ministry of National Defense announced that 12 PKK/YPG terrorists were eliminated in the Operation Claw zone in northern Iraq.

Initially, nine terrorists were eliminated in the operation area, according to the ministry’s statement. The statement further added, “Three more terrorists were eliminated before they could escape during a Special Forces operation,” bringing the total number of eliminated terrorists to 12.

The operation is part of Türkiye’s continued efforts to target PKK/YPG terrorists in the region.

The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the U.S., and the EU, has waged a 40-year terror campaign against Türkiye, resulting in the deaths of over 40,000 people, including women, children, and the elderly. The YPG is the PKK’s affiliate in Syria.
