Türkiye’s Iztuzu Beach ranks among world’s best in Tripadvisor’s 2025 Travelers’ Choice List

Iztuzu Beach in Mugla, one of Türkiye’s most stunning coastal destinations, has secured the 14th spot in Tripadvisor’s prestigious Travelers’ Choice rankings for 2025. The beach, renowned for its pristine golden sands and crystal-clear waters, stands out as a haven for both nature lovers and sun-seekers.
A paradise for travelers and loggerhead turtles
Located in the Dalyan district of Mugla’s Ortaca region, Iztuzu Beach stretches for six kilometers along the Mediterranean coast. What sets it apart from other world-famous beaches is its vital role as a nesting site for the endangered caretta caretta (loggerhead sea turtles).
Every year, from May to September, thousands of these majestic creatures return to lay their eggs in the protected sands of Iztuzu, making conservation efforts crucial to preserving its delicate ecosystem.
Ali Mursit Yagmur, President of the Dalyan Hoteliers Association (DOD), highlighted Iztuzu’s continued recognition on the global stage. “In 2013, The Times named Iztuzu the best beach in Europe. In Tripadvisor’s 2020 rankings, it was placed 19th. Seeing it climb to 14th place this year is a remarkable achievement,” Yagmur stated.
Emphasizing the beach’s untouched beauty, Yagmur noted that strict environmental regulations have ensured Iztuzu remains free from large-scale developments, preserving its natural charm for future generations. Authorities also enforce special measures to protect the turtles, restricting access to nesting areas and limiting human interference.
Antalya’s Konyaalti Beach also makes list
Another Turkish gem featured in Tripadvisor’s 2025 Travelers’ Choice list is Antalya’s Konyaalti Beach, ranking 18th. Known for its long coastline, vibrant turquoise waters, and breathtaking views of the Taurus Mountains, Konyaalti continues to attract visitors from around the world.
Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice awards are based on millions of reviews and ratings from global travelers, making them one of the most influential rankings in the tourism industry.
