An indictment has been completed against main opposition CHP’s Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, seeking a prison sentence of two to four years over his remarks concerning a court-appointed expert.

The investigation was launched after Imamoglu disclosed the expert’s identity during a press conference on Jan. 27.

He is accused of “attempting to influence judicial officials by targeting an expert involved in certain investigations.”

Imamoglu’s statement led to an inquiry into whether his remarks constituted an attempt to interfere with judicial proceedings. As part of the process, he was summoned to provide a statement.
