Hezbollah announced that two of its fighters met their end during clashes with Israeli forces in the vicinity of the southern Lebanon border

A Lebanese Hezbollah statement Sunday reported the death of two of its combatants in confrontations with Israeli forces near the southern Lebanon border.

The group refrained from disclosing specifics surrounding the circumstances of their death, saying that the fighters met their end on the path to Jerusalem – a term employed by Hezbollah to signify its members killed by Israel.

Tensions have heightened along the Lebanon-Israel border with sporadic clashes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah since early October, marking the most lethal encounters since their comprehensive conflict in 2006.

Hezbollah disclosed that 179 of its members have lost their lives in the ongoing hostilities.

Simultaneously, the border unrest coincides with an Israeli military campaign in the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, resulting in a reported 27,365 fatalities and 66,630 injuries.
