Fares of Public transport in Türkiye‘s capital Ankara have increased by 23.8%.

According to the decision made by the Ankara Transportation Coordination Center, as of Feb. 16, the full ticket price will rise from ₺21 ($0.58) to ₺26, while the discounted ticket price will increase from ₺10.5 to ₺13.

The fare hike was attributed to inflation and rising fuel prices.

Price hike for unlimited student subscription

With this decision, the monthly unlimited student subscription fee will also increase from ₺300 to ₺350.

In a statement from the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality governed by Mayor Mansur Yavas, it was announced that support for private public buses will continue.

Additionally, it was stated that minimum wage earners benefiting from municipal support will receive 50 free rides per month loaded onto their bus cards.
