Turkish singer Atiye, known for songs like “Salla,” Kal,” and “Budur,” is filing a lawsuit against Lady Gaga, according to Turkish media.

Attending a movie premiere last night in Türkiye‘s Istanbul, Atiye and the singer-music director’s husband Erol Sebebci spoke about the issue.

Turkish singer’s legal team ‘handling’ issue

Speaking to Magazin Burada, Erol Sebebci stated, “We hadn’t noticed it at first. Our fans were the ones who informed us about the similarity. Both songs are titled Abracadabra, but there is also a musical resemblance… I don’t want to get involved personally, but lawyers and experts in this field are handling it. We only know as much as you do, but I assume they will first attempt to reach a settlement.”

Atiye also confirmed that the family’s legal team is handling the issue.

Lady Gaga’s song “Abracadabra” was released on Feb. 3 and is the second single from her new album “Mayhem.” The music video premiered during the Grammy Awards.
