Türkiye showcases a proactive response to natural disasters, prioritizing swift recovery and societal rebuilding

In recent years, Türkiye has been notably proactive and efficient in responding to frequent natural disasters, showcasing its dedication to protecting and rebuilding society in the face of adversity.

The earthquakes in Van, Malatya, Hatay and Kahramanmaras, the floods in Rize, Artvin, and Giresun and the wildfires in Antalya have posed significant challenges, requiring urgent and effective intervention. These calamities have resulted in the loss of lives, homes, jobs and livelihoods for many Turkish citizens.

Measures such as constructing new houses, waiving debts, offering interest-free loans and creating employment opportunities were part of the comprehensive support system implemented to aid the victims.

In contrast, European countries have shown a limited commitment to supporting their citizens facing comparable disasters. These nations have not extended unpaid aid to those without housing, automobile, or agricultural insurance.

Turkey’s proactive stance is a positive example of how a nation can swiftly mobilize resources and implement effective measures to support citizens during crises.
