345 kg of illicit substance seized at Habur Gate
The Ministry of Trade’s Customs Enforcement teams seize 45 kilograms of liquid methamphetamine, valued at 655 million TL
A total of 345 kilograms (760.5 pounds) of the illicit substance, valued at 655 million TL, were seized Thursday at Habur gate, according to the Ministry of Trade.
The vehicles attempting to enter Türkiye from Habur gate were subjected to routine checking. Those deemed suspicious by the Customs Enforcement teams underwent detailed scrutiny, according to the ministry’s statement.
A water-loaded truck was directed for X-ray scanning.
With suspected density detected in its cargo, the vehicle was taken to the search hangar.
Following thorough searches, including the use of narcotics detector dogs, samples were taken from the truck’s cargo.
Tests conducted on these samples revealed the presence of methamphetamine-type drugs.
While suspects were detained, the authorities initiated an investigation into the incident.
