French President Emmanuel Macron congratulated Syrian leader Ahmad al-Sharaa on his new role as Syria’s president, stressing France’s ongoing commitment to lifting sanctions on Damascus.

The call was made public through a statement from the Syrian presidency on X, confirming Macron’s support for Syria’s transition.
