Hamas rejects Trump’s plan to expel Palestinians from Gaza, calls it ‘recipe for chaos’

Palestinian Hamas group Wednesday said that the Palestinian people will not allow U.S. President Donald Trump’s plans to expel Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to go forward.
Rejecting Trump’s remarks that Gaza residents “have no choice but to leave,” Hamas senior leader Sami Abu Zuhri said such statements are “a recipe for creating chaos and tension in the region.”
“Our people in the Gaza Strip will not allow these plans to pass,” Abu Zuhri also said, adding that “what is required is to end the (Israeli) occupation and aggression against our people, not to expel them from their land.”
Trump’s proposal sparks controversy
Trump claimed that the United States would take over Gaza, remove unexploded ordnance, and develop the area economically. However, he did not provide details on how over two million Palestinians would be displaced or where they would be resettled.
“The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it. We’ll own it,” Trump said.
He suggested turning Gaza into “the Riviera of the Middle East,” stating that his plan had received praise from high-level leaders in the region.
Trump’s proposal has triggered widespread condemnation, with critics labeling it “ethnic cleansing” and a violation of international law.
