Michy Batshuayi, who joined Galatasaray on a free transfer after leaving Fenerbahce, has officially been sold to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt for €3M ($3.09M) plus a €500,000 ($516,3K) bonus.

Michy Batshuayi: A promising stint at Galatasaray cut short

The 31-year-old Belgian forward made 30 appearances for Galatasaray, scoring 7 goals and providing 2 assists.

Despite his decent contributions, Batshuayi’s playing time diminished after the arrival of new players, such as Ahmed Kutucu and Alvaro Morata.

Career on the move: From Belgium to England, Spain and Türkiye

Born on Oct. 2, 1993, in Brussels, Michy Batshuayi is a Belgian international of Congolese descent. Standing at 1.85 meters, Batshuayi has proven himself as a capable striker, and although he is currently with Galatasaray, rumors suggest his time with the club may be coming to an end.

Batshuayi’s professional career began in 2011 with Standard Liege, where he scored 44 goals in 120 matches.

In the 2013-14 Belgian Pro League, he became the second-highest scorer and received the prestigious Ebony Shoe Award. He moved to Marseille in 2014 and later joined Chelsea in 2016, contributing to their Premier League title win that season.

Season at Galatasaray: Expectations vs Reality

Although Batshuayi’s time at Galatasaray was brief, he made an impact with his performances. After stints with Borussia Dortmund, Valencia, Crystal Palace, and Beşiktaş, he joined Fenerbahçe in 2022 before transferring to Galatasaray in 2024, making him the first foreign player to play for all three major Turkish clubs.
