Ankara 6th Criminal Court of Peace has ordered an access ban on a song released in English by Turabi Camkiran, a former contestant of the popular TV program Survivor.

The track, which quickly went viral on social media, has sparked widespread criticism because of its controversial content.

Survivor star Turabi’s new song draws criticism

Turabi, who rose to fame on the Turkish reality show Survivor, recently released an English-language song that has dominated social media discussions for the past few days.

The song has faced backlash for its perceived offensive and misogynistic lyrics.

Ministry’s concern over harmful content

The Ministry of Family and Social Services in Türkiye has raised concerns about the song’s content.

The ministry cited the use of derogatory language towards women and expressions that could disturb public order as the primary reasons for requesting the access ban.

Impact on public welfare, mental health

According to the Anadolu Agency (AA), the ministry argued that such content could negatively impact society’s general structure, especially when shared on widely used social media platforms.

The ministry also expressed concerns that misogynistic language could harm the mental and emotional development of children and young people.

Following the request from the Ministry of Family and Social Services, Ankara’s court has now officially imposed a restriction, effectively removing the controversial video from public access.
