Four out of seven suspects detained in a joint operation by Turkish intelligence agencies confessed to their ties with the Israeli intelligence service, Mossad, according to official documents

Four out of seven individuals detained on suspicion of links to the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad have reportedly admitted to their involvement, as stated in official documents released Friday.

Following a joint operation conducted by the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) and the Turkish National Police (EGM), seven out of nine suspects were detained, with four acknowledging their links to Israeli intelligence, according to the letter issued by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The letter revealed that a suspect, identified as G.K., had been in contact with an Israeli intelligence division named the Israeli Intelligence Service Online Operation Center since 2019, posing as a private detective.

G.K. persisted in this communication under the guidance of Yuriy Kovalchuk, a division member who carried out assignments including research, reconnaissance and surveillance operations.

Carrying out these activities for financial gain, G.K. collaborated with accomplices to gather intelligence on six individuals. Additionally, the suspect utilized connections within public institutions to access state databases, subsequently sharing acquired information with another detainee, M.K., who is implicated in espionage charges.

Records showed that G.K. was in touch with Mossad. Furthermore, M.K. was detained as part of the case file, facing charges of military and political espionage at the Istanbul 30th High Criminal Court.
