Türkiye has expanded the use of its domestically developed air traffic surveillance software, Interactive Radar Analysis and Data Display (IRADE), to Istanbul and Mugla Dalaman airports, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu announced.

In a written statement, Uraloglu provided details on the implementation and deployment of IRADE, a software developed by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMI).

Recalling that IRADE was initially introduced at Istanbul Ataturk and Cukurova airports, Uraloglu said: “We have begun installation work for IRADE at Trabzon, Antalya, Mugla Milas-Bodrum and Izmir Adnan Menderes airports. We expect to complete the installations in the first half of 2025.”

Cutting dependence on foreign systems

The minister emphasized IRADE was developed in accordance with international standards and is a secure, advanced technology system designed to enhance air traffic safety.

Highlighting the importance of domestic and national initiatives in every project, Uraloglu said: “With its high efficiency and flexible usability, IRADE reduces our dependence on foreign systems in critical operations. It ensures full integration with the rapidly evolving and expanding aviation industry.”
