Fenerbahce UEFA Europa League ambitions continue with Midtjylland draw
Fenerbahce secured a 2-2 draw against Denmark’s Midtjylland in the 8th round of the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening, ensuring their qualification for the play-off round.
In the 8th week of the UEFA Europa League, Fenerbahçe faced Danish side Midtjylland. The match, held in Denmark, ended in a 2-2 draw, which was enough for Fenerbahce to advance to the play-off round.
Midtjylland took the lead in the 27th minute with a goal from Ousmane Diao, but Fenerbahce responded just 12 minutes later in the 39th minute, as Youssef En-Nesyri found the back of the net.
The second half saw Fenerbahçe take a 2-1 lead in the 47th minute through a goal by Edin Dzeko. However, Midtjylland equalized in the 86th minute, with Valdemar Andreasen scoring to secure the 2-2 draw.
With this result, Fenerbahce finished with 10 points, qualifying for the play-off round from 24th place out of 36. Midtjylland ended the group stage with 11 points, missing out on progression.
