Sengun celebrates 4,000th point with double-double against Hawks

Alperen Sengun reached a significant career milestone Wednesday night, surpassing 4,000 career points as the Houston Rockets defeated the Atlanta Hawks 100-96 at State Farm Arena.

The Turkish center finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds in 29 minutes of action, pushing his career-scoring total to 4,012 points in his fourth NBA season. Sengun’s double-double performance helped the Western Conference’s second-place Rockets improve to 32-14.

Jalen Green led all scorers with 25 points and added seven rebounds, while Jae’Sean Tate contributed 16 points and three rebounds for Houston, who maintained control despite a late Hawks rally.

The Hawks, who have now lost six consecutive games, were paced by Trae Young’s 21 points and nine assists. De’Andre Hunter added 16 points and five rebounds in Atlanta’s 25th loss of the season.

With the victory, Houston continues its strong position in the Western Conference standings, while Atlanta’s struggles in the East persist as they fell to 22-25.

The game was one of four NBA contests played on the night, with Sengun’s milestone adding historical significance to Houston’s road victory.
