Displaced Palestinian killed by Israeli gunfire in Gaza ceasefire breach
A displaced Palestinian was killed, and two others were injured on Saturday by Israeli army gunfire on Salah Al-Din and Al-Rashid streets in central Gaza, marking a breach of the ceasefire agreement that had been in effect for nearly a week.
The body of the deceased and two injured individuals were transported to Al-Awda and Al-Aqsa Martyrs hospitals, according to medical sources who spoke to Anadolu Agency.
Eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli army targeted displaced Palestinians who had gathered at the furthest accessible points of Salah Al-Din and Al-Rashid streets. These streets serve as vital connections between the southern and northern parts of the Gaza Strip.
The displaced individuals had reportedly assembled in the area, some on foot and others in vehicles, awaiting authorization to cross into northern Gaza. This movement followed Hamas’ handover of four Israeli female soldiers under the Jan. 19 ceasefire agreement.
