Reigning champion and World No. 3 Daniil Medvedev absent from the ATP Doha Open, marking his second consecutive tournament absence

Daniil Medvedev, the reigning champion and World No. 3 in men’s tennis, has withdrawn from the ATP Doha Open, also known as the Qatar Open, for the second consecutive tournament.

The Qatar Open generated significant anticipation, especially with Rafael Nadal’s planned return.

However, Nadal also pulled out, citing his unpreparedness.

Medvedev’s withdrawal from Doha added to his absence from the Rotterdam Open, where he was the defending champion.

The Russian player faced exhaustion and inadequate recovery after his Australian Open final loss to Jannik Sinner.

The consecutive withdrawals raise questions about Medvedev’s physical condition and readiness for upcoming competitions.

Despite these setbacks, the tennis world awaits updates on Medvedev’s status and hopes for his swift recovery.

The ATP Doha Open, an essential tournament in the tennis calendar, has encountered a series of disappointments with the withdrawal of two high-profile players – Rafael Nadal and Daniil Medvedev.
