The Turkish Ministry of National Defense (MoD) announced that nine terrorists were eliminated in operations targeting PKK/YPG elements in northern Iraq and Syria.

Operations in northern Iraq

According to the MoD statement, three PKK terrorists were eliminated in the Claw-Lock and Metina regions of northern Iraq.

These areas are known for harboring terrorist activities and have been the focus of the ongoing military operations in Türkiye.

Counterterrorism efforts in Syria

In northern Syria, six PKK/YPG terrorists were eliminated in the Euphrates Shield and Peace Spring operation zones.

These regions were previously secured by Turkish military operations to establish safety and stability.

Continued commitment to counterterrorism

The ministry emphasized Türkiye’s commitment to eliminating terrorism at its source, stating, “Terrorists will not be able to escape the end that awaits them! Our heroic Turkish Armed Forces eliminated three PKK terrorists it identified in the Claw-Lock and Metina regions in northern Iraq, and six PKK/YPG terrorists it identified in the Euphrates Shield and Peace Spring regions in northern Syria. We will continue unpredictable, unconventional, rapid and sustained operations to destroy terrorism at its source.”
