Fenerbahce secures victory over Anadolu Efes in thrilling Turkish Cup Final Four showdown
Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul claimed victory in the Turkish Basketball Cup on Sunday, defeating Anadolu Efes Istanbul 80-67.
The closely contested first quarter saw numerous lead changes, but Efes struggled to match Fenerbahce’s pace and couldn’t mount a strong comeback.
Despite a 6-0 run by Efes early in the fourth quarter, narrowing the lead to 8 points, Fenerbahce maintained composure, securing a 13-point victory.
Nick Calathes played a pivotal role for Fenerbahce with an almost triple-double performance (10 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists).
The win marked Sarunas Jasikevicius’ achievement as the fourth person in Türkiye’s history to win the cup as a player and coach, joining the ranks of Mehmet Baturalp, Tolga Ongoren and Ufuk Sarica.
Fenerbahce celebrated their eighth cup victory, positioning them closely behind Efes, who holds the record with 12 cups in the competition’s history.
