The Turkish national women’s volleyball team, Filenin Sultanlari, will play the Dominican Republic in its second match at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The match starts tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. local time (TSI) at the South Paris Arena.

Head Coach Daniele Santarelli’s team began their Olympic campaign impressively by defeating the Netherlands.

They made a remarkable comeback from a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2. This victory has placed them in a strong position in Group C.

A win against the Dominican Republic will give the Turkish team a significant advantage in their quest to reach the quarterfinals. After this match, they will compete against Italy on Sunday, Aug. 4.

Zehra Gunes, who has recovered from her injury, will join the squad for tomorrow’s game.

The full roster includes Gizem Orge, Cansu Ozbay, Melissa Vargas, Hande Baladin, Meliha Diken, Derya Cebecioglu, Elif Sahin, Eda Erdem Dundar, Asli Kalac, Zehra Gunes, Ilkin Aydin and Ebrar Karakurt.

In their opening match, the Turkish team overcame the Netherlands. “We showed great resilience and determination,” said Coach Santarelli. “Coming back from 2 to 0 down to win 3-2 demonstrates the strength and spirit of our team.”

The team is determined to build on its initial success and continue its strong performance at Paris 2024.

A victory over the Dominican Republic will be a crucial step toward its goal.
