Türkiye concluded the second stage of the 2026 Archery World Cup in Shanghai atop the overall medal standings, collecting six medals across the six-day competition.
This included a sweep of individual and team hardware on the final day of competition.
Mete Gazoz and Ulas Berkim Tumer both reached the men's recurve podium on the closing day, with Gazoz taking silver and Tumer claiming bronze.
The trio of Gazoz, Berkay Akkoyun, and Tumer then combined to win silver in the men's recurve team event, adding a third medal to Türkiye's final-day tally.
Gazoz advanced through the individual bracket by defeating India's Yashdeep Sanjay Bhoge 6-0, Bangladesh's Abdur Rahman Alif 7-1 and Brazil's Marcus D'Almeida 6-2 to reach the quarterfinals.
He then eliminated reigning Olympic champion Kim Woo-jin of South Korea in a shootoff, 6-5, before beating Japan's Junya Nakanishi 7-3 in the semifinals. Gazoz fell to China's Li Mengqi 6-4 in the gold-medal match to take silver.
Tumer's run through the bracket included wins over the Czech Republic's Richard Krejci (6-2), fellow Turkish archer Harun Kirmizitas (6-4), and South Korea's Seo Mingi (6-5) to secure a semifinal berth. In the bronze-medal match, Tumer defeated Nakanishi 6-5 to claim third place.
In the men's recurve team final, the Turkish trio of Gazoz, Akkoyun and Tumer fell to South Korea, settling for silver. This capped a three-medal day for the national squad.
Across the full competition, which ran from May 5 to 10 in Shanghai, Türkiye accumulated 2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medal (six in total).
That tally placed Türkiye ahead of China, which finished with 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze, in the overall medal table.
The 2026 Archery World Cup continues with its third stage, set to be hosted in Antalya in June.
