A 2025 International Bilateral Assistance Report published by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) once again confirmed the leading position of the Turkish Red Crescent in global humanitarian aid efforts.
According to the report, the Turkish Red Crescent ranked first in the world in terms of the number of countries reached with aid and second globally in the financial scale of international bilateral assistance.
The IFRC’s 2025 International Bilateral Assistance Report evaluated humanitarian activities carried out worldwide by national societies affiliated with the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
The report stated that the Turkish Red Crescent ranked first globally in the number of countries receiving aid, while placing second worldwide in the financial volume of international bilateral assistance.
The Turkish Red Crescent played a major role in humanitarian operations for Gaza, delivering assistance worth 26 million Swiss francs to the enclave during the reporting period.
According to IFRC data, 48% of the international aid delivered to Gaza within the framework of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement was provided by the Turkish Red Crescent.
In addition to Gaza, the organization continued humanitarian operations in multiple crisis regions.
During the reporting period, the Turkish Red Crescent’s total international humanitarian assistance reached 119 million Swiss francs.
Of this amount, 79 million Swiss francs were directed to Syria, 26 million Swiss francs to Gaza, and 14 million Swiss francs to humanitarian operations carried out in various countries worldwide.
The organization accounted for 26% of the total 451 million Swiss francs in aid delivered globally by national societies within the movement.
Following the release of the report, Turkish Red Crescent President Fatma Meric Yilmaz said the results reflected both a major achievement and a significant responsibility.
“This success is both a great source of pride and an important responsibility for us,” Yilmaz said.
“These aid efforts are made possible by delivering the donations entrusted to the Turkish Red Crescent through our nation’s mobilization of kindness to people in need around the world,” she added.
“We act with the responsibility of ensuring that every donation entrusted to us reaches the right place with an understanding that prioritizes human dignity.”
Yilmaz also thanked those contributing to the organization’s humanitarian activities.
“I sincerely thank everyone who works and contributes selflessly to deliver our nation’s trust to those in need,” she said.
